welcome to the first post of the SIMPLE INNOVATIONS projects blog ... i hope that this becomes an easy place for me to spotlight my projects as i complete them so that you can see pictures of them and read some of what went into them ...
i'm looking forward to this because, as strange as it may sound, i feel like my projects are sometimes miniature versions of life ... my life, at least ... perhaps as i reflect on the challenges and outcomes of these projects, i can better understand the challenges and outcomes of my life and, who knows, maybe you will too ...
i really like graphics ... i took some time today to upgrade my business logo (see picture above) and played around with incorporating it into a picture that laura, my daughter-in-law and champion photographer/blogger (see ohameliapa.blogspot.com), took of me back in august ... i like graphics because i feel like i have a considerable amount of control over the final outcome ... i like having control ... if i don't like the way a graphic turns out, i just keep tweaking it until i do like it (i wish life was like that) ... as much as i enjoy graphics and creating a "look" for simple innovations, i have to admit it contributes little toward the "substance" of simple innovations ... i can have all the impressive graphics in the world but they won't do me any good if i can't pull off this rec room project that i've been working on for the last month ...
sometimes i have to pull myself away from the "image" aspects of the business (where i feel like i have control and can successfully produce) and force myself back to the job site where i'm not always sure that i have the upper hand ...
i'm pretty sure i also have this problem in areas of my life that are outside of simple innovations ...
